From a stately reading room to perfectly pruned gardens, and a luxurious spa and wellness centre, Leeu Estate offers grandeur, elegance and luxury in the heart of the Cape Winelands. Leeu Estate is within walking distance to Franschhoek, the prettiest of the wine-producing villages in South Africa’s Winelands, and also known as the culinary capital of the country. Just a short stroll from from your door you can enjoy exquisite food and wine in the quaint town, and further afield the famous golden vineyards and mountains of the Western Cape await your discovery.

Spending the day in is no less enticing – Leeu Estate has its own wine quarter where you are invited for a complimentary tour of the cellar and winery as well as a tasting of Mullinuex & Leeu Family Wines. Spend the day lazing under dappled shade at the swimming pool, treat yourself to an indulgent massage, or eat to your heart’s content at The Dining Room or The Conservatory, where the head chef is sure to dazzle you with innovative cuisine prepared with only the best local farm produce.

Deluxe Room

Deluxe rooms are a little more spacious, while the studio suites have an additional fireplace and terrace. Executive suites have a private lounge and study, some with terraces that feature beautiful mountain backdrops.

Classic Room

All of the suites overlook the surrounding vineyards, gardens and mountains and have luxurious furnishings in neutral, soothing tones. Luxe marble-clad bathrooms feature twin vanities, invigorating rain showers and underfloor heating. Some of the suites have regal Victorian-style bathtubs.

At the Leeu Spa you can reap the benefits of age-old Asian traditions and wild-harvested ingredients from remote parts of the Amazon Forest and the Himalayas. Unwind and relax in one of three treatment rooms, pamper yourself at the hair salon, or de-stress with hydrotherapy. The plunge pool has peaceful views of the lily pond while the swimming pool is perfect for a few leisurely laps. Read about South Africa’s iconic figures like Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Ghandi in the well-stocked reading room, play board games with friends, or simply sit back and enjoy the mountain views from the veranda.

Creative and contemporary cuisine is served at The Dining Room or in The Conservatory restaurants, both located on the estate and producing food that reflects the region’s excellent culinary reputation. Fresh produce and artisanal handmade goods are sourced from local organic farms in the Winelands and these high quality ingredients are treated with the utmost respect. Breakfasts are included in your stay and consist of an artisanal buffet of baked goods, fresh fruits, hand-churned yoghurt, cheeses and more. Alternatively pick a hot breakfast option from the menu.
