Legendary Lodge
Set on a fragrant working coffee farm among lush tropical gardens on the outskirts of Arusha, Legendary Lodge offers luxurious accommodation that feels like a ‘home from home'. The lodge is a tranquil retreat at which to prepare for or relax from your Tanzanian adventures.
Stays at Legendary Lodge are generally short and the staff generally arrange excursions to Arusha and nearby Arusha National Park and Ngurdoto Crater. Alternatively, guests can wander or cycle through the plantation and gardens, visit the recreation centre and spa in the nearby members' club to spend some time at the gym, playing tennis or squash, hitting the running track or relaxing in the steam room.
The service is gracious and welcoming, the food sublime, and the atmosphere one of complete calm, making Legendary Lodge a delightful place to spend a few days unwinding before or after your safari.

Discreetly positioned, the cottages at the Legendary Lodge all have private lounge spaces with fireplaces and bedroom areas with king-sized beds hung with mosquito nets. Décor complements that of the main lodge, with white walls and linen offset by dark woods and simple rugs.
The cottages have generous en suite bathrooms and direct-dial phones, broadband connections, complimentary mini-bars and fruit baskets, as well as their own private verandahs, looking out onto the gardens and with views of Mount Meru.
The Kahawa and Meru family cottages blend classic charm with modern amenities, offering two en-suite bedrooms connected by a cozy living room with a fireplace, satellite TV, and Wi-Fi. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed and a bath with a deep-soaking tub, while the second bedroom features twin beds and a shower. Each cottage also includes a spacious verandah overlooking the lush tropical gardens.
Legendary Lodge consists of ten cottage suites, two family cottages and two family villas, as well as a plethora of shared areas. Decorated in a palate of calm, neutral hues, interspersed with African artefacts and furnished with a mixture of modern and antique pieces, this is a lodge that feels like a home. There are two sitting rooms, where parquet floors and log-burning fireplaces mix easily with comfortable sofas and armchairs. Meals are served in the indoor private dining room, large covered verandah or outdoors under the lapa.
The gardens have extensive lawns and a swimming pool, and the lodge also offers a spa and recreation centre with a full gym, steam room, pool, tennis and squash courts, and running track. And for those who are looking for the perfect souvenirs to take home, the on-site curio shop sells clothing, jewellery and coffee beans.

Amazing hospitality, romantic, lots of fires in the fireplace that they were happy to
make, walking around the plantation, excellent massage, nice essential oils in the room, great food, wine and drinks, dinner for two, candles, monkeys, dik diks, deer. A perfect place to rest before starting the safari.
I really love the tranquillity of this estate, a sprawling oasis not far from local markets and the regional airport – but you feel a million miles away. The staff are friendly and professional, and the lodge offers various al fresco dining areas and places to relax. You will be hard-pressed to find a more exclusive retreat in Arusha.
