The lodge offers guests an intimate experience with just four exclusive camps, each containing six luxury suites, set on the banks of the Makhutswi River in Big 5 country.
There is an extensive range of activities at the lodge; morning, afternoon and night game drives, birding and walking safaris are offered as well as day trips to the nearby Kruger National Park. The adventurous will be tempted by caving, abseiling and hot-air ballooning excursions. Makalali is a family-friendly lodge and has a childcare service as well as tailored game viewing activities.

Makalali Private Game Lodge has four exclusive camps, each containing six luxury suites. Each camp has a swimming pool, enclosed dining and lounge area plus an open-air boma.
The camp offers a laundry service, childcare service during meals and game drives, massages from an in-house therapist and even an art gallery.
Guests can also enjoy tribal dancing and drumming or visit the cheetah breeding facility.A wide range of game viewing activities are offered at Makalali as well as a private vehicle and guide by prior arrangement.
Children aged 6 to 12 can take part in a mini-rangers programme hosted by qualified rangers who will impart a new appreciation of the bush to the young ones, and they will get to take home a certificate as a reminder of their safari experience.
