Overview of Mashatu Tented Camp
Mashatu Tented Camp is located in the private Mashatu Game Reserve in the Tuli Block, the remote south-east corner of Botswana where the Limpopo and Shashe Rivers meet. The smaller, more intimate sister camp to Mashatu Main Camp, this is classic tented living at its best, and children over the age of 12 are welcome.
Your experience at Mashatu is personalised by Tswana rangers and trackers eager to show you their world of spectacular African wildlife and flora. The tents are large and airy and boast a high standard of comfort, and as far as dining goes, you can eat communally around the campfire under the stars or dine on your private deck. The camp also offers the unique opportunity to go on a guided mountain bike safari – a thrilling way to explore the area.

Standard Tent
You will feel exceptionally close to nature while sleeping under canvas at Mashatu Tented Camp. With only eight twin tents, there are never more than 16 guests in camp at any time, and this exclusivity creates an intimate ambience around camp. Tucked under the branches of shady trees and accessible via meandering pathways, each tent is spacious and comfortable, mounted on a concrete platform, and has its own private outdoor en suite bathroom with shower and flush toilet. All tents are insect-proof.

With just 16 guests in camp at any time, the ambience at Mashatu Tented Camp is intimate and personalised with enough comfort for a relaxing stay. Take a refreshing dip in the plunge pool and take in the views from your private deck. Early morning and afternoon game drives are conducted under expert guidance as are the popular early evening drives. A hide overlooks a waterhole to provide photographers with close-up views of Tuli’s animals while at night the camp’s surrounding vegetation is lit up to show off the area’s fascinating nocturnal wildlife.

Mashatu Tented Camp serves tasty breakfasts and lunches in a dining tent with an open-sided thatched deck. Communal campfire dinners take place in the traditional reed enclosed boma – you will never forget the experience of eating around a crackling fire under a canopy of African stars – but romantics will be pleased to hear that guests also have the option of dining on their private deck.
