Villa

There are four villas at Matemwe Retreat; all situated on the ground floor. The villas feature a spacious veranda, a downstairs private cocktail bar, an air-conditioned bedroom and bathroom with double sinks, a shower and a bath overlooking the dazzling Indian Ocean.

On the private roof terrace, you will find a refreshing plunge pool with sun and shade decks. In front of the rooms there is a small beach that is only used by the guests of the Retreat. Full room service including drinks, private dining, massages and beauty treatments are available in the privacy of your villa.

Facilities

Guests can enjoy pure indulgent isolation at Matemwe Retreat as the lodge provides a butler and chef for all your needs. Enjoy in-house dining, massage treatments and drinks in the privacy of your villa.

The Retreat features plunge pools for dips during hot days, and offers champagne breakfasts, aromatic massage oils and special packages for honeymooners - making your Zanzibar experience romantic and special.

Early morning tea and coffee will be served on your veranda before breakfast. Start the day with fruit juices, fruits, yoghurt, cereals, pancakes and a full English breakfast.

Lunches are buffets with a mix of African and European flavours, while dinners offer a choice of fish, meat and vegetarian main courses. Fresh seafood is naturally the speciality of the house and the catch of the day is served on the roof terrace or at Matemwe's main lodge.
