Overview

Mihingo Lodge is a peaceful and secluded retreat built on wooden platforms and stilts, ensuring great views of the valley below with its lake and tranquil forests. Play a game of tennis on the clay court or go horse back riding before spending a quiet afternoon around the swimming pool or watching game from the hide positioned next to the nearby waterhole.

The friendly staff will help you to book activities offered at the nearby Lake Mburo National Park. Enjoy game drives, boat trips on the lake and a variety of early morning game walks, including a walk through the Rubanga Forest, with its abundant birdlife. Mihingo Lodge supports the local community by training and employing local people. The lodge also feels strongly about conservation, and therefore buildings are constructed in such a way as to ensure minimum impact on the environment.

Mihingo Lodge: Another stunning location, and the people who run the place are great! Felt extremely well taken care of. The fact that you are able to do nature walks on foot, made up for the lack of primates/predators that can be experienced elsewhe re in Uganda. The atmosphere in the lodge was reason enough for it to be a welcome addition to my itinerary. I certainly would not have had a problem with staying there for a few more days....maybe next time!

"We loved Mihingo probably best of all and were disappointed that we couldn't stay longer or spend more time at the lodge itself."

The lodges were well chosen, each of them special, with Mihonga as absolute highlight. The babysitter we needed for Emilia was well organised and everything worked out fine. Service in general was impeccable (I have to say better as compared to Namib ia).

The Minhingo Lodge may be the most exquisite accommodation we have ever stayed, bar none. The setting, the rooms, the view was unparalleled. The food was delightful, as was the staff. The morning walking safari was thrilling. The boat ride on the lake was slightly disappointing, but that was our take. I am sure some waterside wild life would have changed that impression. Our only disappointment was that we had only one night here. This is a place where a minimum of 2 nights is required. It is too breathtaking to only have one night. Whenever possible, encourage your clients to spend more than one night here. Truly one of the most magnificent accommodations anywhere in the world - and that is spoken by my experience.

"We were blown away by Mihingo Lodge, what a beautiful place. The walking safari was interesting, and the pool was out of this world. The horseback safari sounded interesting, if we had more time. Thanks for the last minute recommendation!"

The Mihingo lodge at Mburo was spectacular - one of the most memorable locations I have seen. We had room 1. Game viewing there is actually not much to speak of (zebra, yes, but how exciting is that?), but the setting was great and we had a nice wal king safari. The food was very good. We also enjoyed feeding the bushbabies. I would like to have had more time to just sit out on the deck and relax.
