Mpala Jena Suite
Constructed using only recycled hardwood and running on electricity from its solar farm, the exquisite Mpala Jena Suite is a riverside jewel and one of the most environmentally innovative camps within the Zambezi National Park. Situated in a private concession on a gorgeous stretch of the Zambezi River shoreline, Mpala Jena offers a private and exclusive canvas haven just upstream from the thunderous Victoria Falls. This private villa can accommodate four adults sharing, or a group of five if there are children (six years and older) travelling with two parents.
‘Mpala Jena' means ‘white impala' and as the legend resides among the local rangers, there were regular sightings of a ghost-like albino impala in the area in the late 1970s. The property, however, is actually named after the natural spring line that runs through the heart of the private concession, attracting an abundance of wildlife year-round. The Zambezi National Park is home to healthy numbers of buffalo, elephant, lion, zebra and about 400 recorded bird species including showstoppers like Goliath heron, Pel's fishing owl, African finfoot, Lanner falcon, and long-toed lapwing. You can spot these animals on private guided game drives in 4×4 vehicles specially designed for photography. Other exclusive activities like guided nature walks, canoeing and boat cruises on the Zambezi are also available.
Mpala Jena is conveniently located 16 kilometres / 10 miles inside Zambezi National Park, with easy access to Victoria Falls Town and its bustling markets. Wandering the streets of this vibrant town, a cultural village tour, and witnessing the world's biggest waterfall are must-do day tours on any Victoria Falls itinerary.

Found under the sprawling branches of Sausage and Jackalberry trees lie charming tented suites that epitomise the camps’ ‘barefoot luxury’ feel. A serene, neutral colour palette and light, floaty fabrics create a private haven amidst the trees. Enjoy a private deck and both indoor and outdoor bathrooms.
Nestled in the dappled shade of indigenous trees, Mpala Jena Suite has a private lounge and dining area with spacious bedrooms on either side. The entire suite is canvas with canopy ceilings, offering open views of the river. The main camp in the private concession features a library, interactive kitchen and wine cellar.
Delicious a la carte menu items can be served privately, indoors or outdoors. Picnic breakfasts and lunches are often enjoyed in beautiful riverside settings in the bush.
