The smaller sister camp of Kaingo Camp, Mwamba Bush Camp offers a personal safari experience in an intimate and authentic atmosphere. There are only three thatched chalets at Mwamba, making it ideal for privacy-seeking travellers and honeymooners, and the guides are exceptionally knowledgeable and passionate about their role.
Set on the banks of the Mwamba River, a tributary of the Luangwa, the camp lies under huge shady trees. The Mwamba riverbed is usually dry but the camp has easy access to two permanent waterholes, both of which have hides set over them for fantastic photographic opportunities. You are also treated to three activities a day; a morning and afternoon game drive, as well as guided visits to the waterhole. You are also welcome to swap a drive for a guided walking safari or even spend the whole day out on a 4X4 game drive for maximum wildlife-viewing opportunities.
Mwamba Bush Camp is a simple accommodation with an organic feel: the main buildings have natural floors and reed walls, lit at night by a combination of solar-powered lights, candles and classic paraffin lanterns. It is a great camp for romantic travellers, adventure seekers, wildlife photographers and families with older children.
