Ol Pejeta Bush Camp
Ol Pejeta Bush Camp is situated on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River in Kenya's Laikipia region. There are magnificent views of Mount Kenya and the wildlife is never far from camp thanks to a popular salt lick on the opposite bank of the river. In addition to offering a classic Big 5 safari, Ol Pejeta private conservancy is home to the last two remaining northern white rhinos in the world, as well as about 40 rescued chimpanzees. Warm and knowledgeable guides will introduce you to the diverse habitats of the Aberdares foothills, and offer the opportunity to experience the camp's profound conservation ethos and pioneering projects.
Ol Pejeta Bush Camp is an eco-friendly tented camp that has just seven down-to-earth tents. Accommodating a limited number of guests ensures that you enjoy a truly authentic African experience that is perfect for intimate family vacations and romantic safaris. Ol Pejeta Bush Camp – small intimate setting with communal dining, great food and company. Great location, saw elephants while dining!
We stayed 4 nights at each property. The length of time at each site worked very well for us to feel that we had a good experience at each. In addition, the three locations provided differing experiences, which was greatly appreciated. The Director of each camp did an excellent job in providing a warm and welcoming experience, and the transport between the sites also worked well.
We sincerely loved our stay at The Safari Cottages in Ol Pejeta. The owners are warm and the personal staff makes every meal special – they have a wonderful format of hospitality in a fabulous location.
The staff and the opportunity to “meet” the last three remaining Northern White Rhinos is what makes this camp so special. That being said the tents are also lovely, comfortable and very spacious, so a great choice all round when including Laikipia in your itinerary.
Ol Pejeta didn’t have a “seasonal river”, but the conservancy is held in pristine condition and provided us with a very enjoyable stay.
