Ol Tukai Lodge is situated in beautiful Amboseli National Park in Kenya, which is famous for its large herds of elephants and fabulous views of Mount Kilimanjaro with its snow-capped peak, towering over the savannah. Amboseli is a good option for a first-time safari as it packs plenty of diversity into its compact size, and Ol Tukai prides itself on being one of the best places to capture iconic elephant shots with Kili looming in the background.
The lodge is spacious and offers very comfortable accommodation. All 80 rooms, which are decorated with a subtle African theme, have views of either the wetlands or Mount Kilimanjaro.
The lodge has a large, free-form swimming pool, a tennis court and a restaurant. There are two bars offering snacks and drinks and the dining room leads onto a terrace and the manicured gardens. A children’s club is also on the premises to keep the little ones busy so the adults may relax or go for a massage or other treatment at the spa and wellness centre.
Other activities include morning and afternoon game drives, bird watching and cultural excursions to a nearby Maasai village. The best time to capture Kili without its characteristic cloud cover is early in the morning, making those dawn wake-up calls well worth it.
