Overview of Ongava Lodge
Situated in a private game reserve bordering Namibia’s flagship Etosha National Park, Ongava Lodge offers an authentic safari experience while providing great accommodation and service. This lodge is a comfortable base from which to explore Etosha but at Ongava you have the opportunity to enjoy exciting night drives and guided nature walks, activities which are not allowed within Etosha itself.
Game drives in both Etosha and Ongava offer you the opportunity to see large numbers of classic African animals such as elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, giraffe and zebra. Birding is also excellent in this part of Namibia with over 340 species – including 10 endemics – to be seen. Large herds of plains game concentrate around the waterholes in the June to October dry winter season, making for exciting game viewing, and the Ongava reserve is also home to both black and white rhino.
