Other Room Types

The Honeymoon Suite at Plantation Lodge is situated apart from the other rooms, offering romantics even more privacy. The rooms feature a cosy fireplace, terrace and special shower & Jacuzzi bath - highly recommended for a romantic night.

The group house lies further down the garden and offers an ideal place for a family or a group of friends. It features four double suites, all of which are en suite, as well as a large dining room. Facilities are also available for younger children.

Plantation Lodge in Ngorongoro - The property, without doubt, is beautiful. We were given a house not a suite of rooms. We had a 4-bedroom house with dining and living facilities plus several balconies. It was like a mini castle. It was called the Ga rden Room. So, no complaints about the accommodations though it's a bit surprising that for the plushness of the lodge, they didn't have shampoo and/or conditioner in the showers. They only had shower gel. This is a small disappointment. Also, the food was a disappointment. It did not live up to the plushness of the property. Nice plating and presentation but the flavors were just not there. A bit off. My sister is an internationally-trained chef and runs a cooking school so I think you can put some credence into our evaluation. The service was good. Amenities were good except for the lack of shampoo & conditioner in the shower which to me is very basic. Wifi was present in the rooms but not strong. Wifi was generally NOT consistent or strong in all areas of the lodge including the reception & common areas.

Plantation Lodge took it to another level and lunching in the garden when we arrived was another special and memorable touch. The venue and decor was first class and we loved every second. We even wandered round the garden with the head gardener who showed us where all the food is grown. The owners were warm and friendly and I loved the wine cellar!

What a great place!!! The service that we had in Tanzania / Kenya was very good, but here the service is off the chart. The people really go out of their way to make you feel at home. The lodge was beautiful, very well decorated with a lot of taste , without being presumptuous. The food was just fabulous. We really would like to have spent more time there. The decor, the setting and the friendly very attentive people made it feel like something out of a dream. Thank you for getting us into this beautiful lodge.

Plantation Lodge was a real pleasant surprise. This is a real oasis with beautiful gardens and accommodations. It has a great hilltop setting overlooking the farming valleys around it. The lodge was very comfortable and the food and service was grea t. With the pretty pool it is a good place to recharge your batteries and relax between Land Rover trips. The nearby town of Karatu is very interesting. We woke up one morning to a noisy Turkey Gobbler outside our door.
