Sambora Kinigi
Per Person Sharing
Set at the foot of Mount Sabyinyo on the edge of Volcanoes National Park, Sambora Kinigi is a small lodge surrounded by lush tropical gardens, with views towards the Virunga volcanoes. Just 300 metres from the Dian Fossey Campus and around five minutes from the park headquarters, its location makes it an easy base for gorilla trekking and exploring the region.
While gorilla trekking is the main draw, golden monkey tracking, volcano hikes, nature walks and birding offer other ways to experience the area. Back at the lodge, the heated pool, fireside lounge and gardens create relaxed places to spend time between activities, while the wellness centre and sauna provide a chance to unwind after a day outdoors.
Sambora Kinigi is particularly well suited to couples, honeymooners, small groups and families travelling together, with four suite categories offering different levels of space and privacy. Its intimate, owner-run approach and strong connection to the local community also make it a good fit for travellers interested in conservation and Rwandan culture.
