Set in a private 120 000-hectare wildlife concession and with only three suites on offer, Sapi Springs Camp delivers a beguiling mix of luxurious exclusivity and excellent game viewing. Bordering the world-renowned Mana Pools National Park in Zimbabwe and making up the core of the Middle-Zambezi Biosphere Reserve, the Sapi Concession is accessible to photographic and walking safaris, giving travellers an exciting destination on the Sapi River to explore.

Much of the reserve is accessed on foot and Sapi Springs Camp specialises in walking safaris, led by professional guides and armed rangers, a thrilling, rewarding experience. The camp also offers game drives in specially designed vehicles, allowing you to balance walking with game drives. Families are welcome with the raised accommodation best suited for older children only.

The emphasis is on finding the Zambezi’s heavyweight wildlife like elephants, buffalo and hippo along with big cats, wild dogs and crocodiles. The bird watching is also very good (look out for Lillian’s lovebirds, sand grouse and raptors) and you will enjoy classic sunsets and a chance to sweep a spotlight around in the evening to catch sight of Africa’s nocturnal creatures on the move on night game drives. Back at camp you have a luxurious suite to look forward to, complete with your private star-bed – made up with crisp cotton sheets and set under a mosquito net and the night sky.

A laundry service is provided and there is a battery-recharging port in the lounge as well as USB rechargers in the game-drive vehicles.

You will enjoy three meals a day at Sapi Springs Camp. They are extremely flexible about timing, enabling you to go out earlier, stay out later – indeed, all day if you want – and remain longer at the exceptional sightings without having to rush back for a set-time meal.
