Shaba National Park forms part of northern Kenya's iconic parks and reserves. Its diverse ecosystem features stunning mountain ranges stretching off into the horizon and the life-giving Ewaso Nyiro River that cuts through the landscape—a vital source of water for the mostly dry terrain. The region is celebrated for being the home of the ‘Samburu Special Five'—Kenya's endemic wildlife species. These include the largest and rarest zebra species, Grevy's zebra, as well as the East African oryx, a threatened species of antelope that is protected in this region.
Sarova Shaba Game Lodge is perfectly positioned to bring you panoramic views of the river, lined with trees and inviting wildlife to sip at the cool waters. Elephants are sometimes spotted exploring the riverbanks, while crocodiles swim out to shore and bask in the sunlight. Lunch is best enjoyed in the gardens, beneath the tallest trees, surrounded by fresh air and tranquil birdsong.
