Saruni Samburu

Saruni Samburu was an amazing lodge. Unfortunately, the terrain was difficult for me to navigate. I had a very hard time getting around. We were scheduled for Villa 6A, but there was no way I was going to be able to get there (that’s as far as you can get from the main area; very difficult for anyone with mobility issues). So, Nicole (the lodge manager) very kindly switched us to Villa 2 and then the next day let us move to the family villa. There, they were able to come pick me up in the jeep right in front of the villa. Also, they brought the massage bed to the villa because I wasn’t able to get to the wellness building. Nicole went way out of her way to accommodate my disability and I really appreciate it. Hussen was our main waiter and Jimmy was our driver/guide. Both were very helpful and kind. Even with my mobility issues, I’m glad we got to stay at Saruni Samburu Lodge.

Saruni Samburu has amazing views, possibly the most beautiful view I have seen.

Saruni staff, lodging and food exceeded expectations. Guides were friendly and very knowledgeable.

Saruni Samburu is extremely comfortable. The landscape is fabulous and so is the quantity of birds. The director, Thomas Harding, was very friendly and active.

We saw every animal imaginable! The staff at Saruni Samburu were great.

The trip to Kenya was beyond amazing and the lodge surpassed our initial expectations. There isn’t anything negative we can say about the trip at all!

Samburo Saruni was probably my favourite so unique with breath taking views and unusual accommodation and our own butler Benson – what more can you ask for. The service was excellent and the safari guides all very knowledgeable and entertaining.

Saruni Samburu has some of the best views in the Samburu region, I could have spent all day just in my huge room enjoying the outside shower, lounging on the deck enjoying a G&T looking over the Kalama conservancy. Food here was really good and the staff were excellent!

Accommodations were superior! It was immaculately clean. I loved the outdoor shower. The views from our rooms were breathtaking. The food was great. Our driver/guide, Christophe Letur, had exceptional knowledge of the wildlife, trees and plants. We saw numerous animals but the highlight was a family of elephants with two very small babies playing in the river very close to our vehicle.

Upon arrival at Saruni, we were greeting by the managers and several members of the staff. Everyone was friendly and courteous and did their best to make our stay pleasant and memorable. We were given the last lodge which had amazing views. The chef was very accomodating as I had dietary restrictions. I cannot say enough about how beautiful this place was and how much at home we were made to feel. We truly hated to leave and wished we could have stayed an extra day or two. And, yes, the game drive was wonderful, except that it was very dusty.
