Overview of Serian’s Serengeti North

Serian's Serengeti North and South Camps are intimate, authentic safari camps that move with the ebb and flow of the vast herds of wildebeest and zebra as they migrate across the seemingly endless plains of Tanzania's fertile Serengeti.

Between June and November, the North camp is in the Lamai Wedge of the northern region where teeming herds are forced to cross the Mara River and face the prospect of enormous crocodiles that lie in wait for them. The camp lies only a kilometre (less than a mile) from the Mara just above Crossing Point 4, making a great place to see the action. Fly-camping is also possible at the North camp – a unique experience that brings you even closer to the secrets of the bush.

From December to May, this 8-tented camp moves to the Ngorongoro Conservation area in the south, where the wildebeest calving season on the short grass plains attracts a following of hungry predators eager to take advantage of this time of plenty. Both camps are situated to allow you to fully explore these fascinating ecosystems.

At Serian's Serengeti North and South camps, the emphasis is firmly on the wilderness experience, with the moving tapestry of wildlife forming the backdrop to an excellent style of service, graceful hospitality and superior guiding skills. A spacious central mess tent houses the dining room, library and lounge: this tastefully furnished and welcoming area serves as the gathering point before the day's game drives or walks, while in the evenings, the outdoor fireplace becomes the setting for long conversations and tales of adventure below a glittering canopy of stars.
