Situated on one of the best beaches in Mauritius, Shanti Maurice is an exceptional resort and spa featuring an elegant and extensive collection of private suites and villas. Ideal for both families and couples, Shanti Maurice offers a truly rejuvenating and relaxing island experience. Its location is quiet and all rooms have Indian Ocean views over a protected bay on the southern coast.

Shanti Maurice is known for its superb award-winning spa - one of the largest of all Africa's tropical island spas - and wellness facilities that include Ayurvedic treatments, nutritional advice, personal training, yoga and Pilates, as well as a full range of massage and specialised treatments. You can enjoy a variety of water sports, including snorkelling, sailing and windsurfing, as well as a game of tennis or a round of golf. A special activity is to paddle a 'zayak' (a glass-bottomed kayak) to the coral garden and enjoy it from above. The extensive garden features coconut palms, bougainvillea and frangipani trees, and is the ideal place for a leisurely stroll.

Another highlight is 'La Kaze Mama': you learn to cook authentic Mauritian food in the hotel's herb and vegetable garden under the friendly guidance of the chef at Grandma's Kitchen restaurant.

Children are well looked after at Explorers Kids Club, which has a range of age-appropriate programmes for younger guests aged four months to 11 years. There are only two children under two per nanny, giving parents of toddlers peace of mind. Older kids can enjoy scavenger hunts, sport or supervised excursions.

The Fish Shack serves authentic Mauritian food in a traditional environment. This rustic, beach-side barbecue is lit up by lanterns and dining is accompanied by the sounds of waves breaking on the reef. From fish to meat and game, each meal is carefully prepared and enjoyed while Sega dancers perform traditional dances.

The Rhum Shack is the first of two vibrant bars, and offers 180 different rums from 36 different countries. It has a laid-back, rustic atmosphere where you are encouraged to bury your bare toes in the sand as you sip on your special tipple.
