Make a Positive Impact Through Travel

Tongabezi Trust School was born in 1996 from a desire to provide underprivileged rural Zambian children, living within walking distance of the school, with a sound and holistic education in a bid to improve the quality of their lives. Their vision is to develop the child as a whole and help them gain greater knowledge and understanding of educational and social issues, so they can make informed choices and have the chance of bright, promising futures.

Today, Tongabezi Trust School has over 280 current students and is made up of classrooms, as well as an art room, a music room and amphitheatre, sports grounds, a library, and a canteen. The children participate in a variety of extracurricular activities such as ICT, sports, music, drama, cultural dance, chess and art. Tujatane also supports over 60 children who have moved on to secondary schools all over  Zambia and many Tujatane alumni are at universities and colleges all over the world.

You wouldn’t know you were only a few minutes boat ride from Tongabezi, Tangala House feels like your own piece of paradise with river views, expansive lawns, private staff, pool, garden, and gym. I could imagine spending my days exploring the area and having this private space to relax with your family & friends, what a dream!

Tangala has four bedrooms, three of which have en-suite bathrooms. The fourth room has twin beds, is ideal for children and there is a bathroom across the hallway. There is also a lovely children’s playroom.

An open-thatch veranda easily seats 10 and steps lead out onto the garden that has 250m of private river frontage. The 13-metre swimming pool has a shallow area with bench seating for the little ones and the terrace has an eight-seat railway sleeper picnic table. Tangala also has its own well-equipped gym with large glass windows for you to enjoy the peaceful river view while working out.
