Overview of Tubu Tree Camp
Tubu Tree Camp is a small and intimate tented lodge situated on a large island in the Okavango Delta’s north-western Jao private concession. This is classic big-game country and the area boasts a variety of habitats that ensures diverse and thrilling game viewing. Animals regularly seen here include elephant, hippo, buffalo, giraffe and a multitude of antelope and smaller game species. All the big cats and other major predators are in the area and the birdlife is spectacular.
Tubu Tree Camp offers day and night game drives with experienced guides in open 4×4 vehicles as well as walking safaris with an armed ranger. During the June to September winter months, the water levels rise to allow for exciting water-based activities such as motorboat and canoe safaris as well as fishing trips.
Guests from six to 17 can be part of the Bush Buddy programme, where a specially trained member of staff ensures that they are kept educated and entertained throughout their stay at Tubu Tree Camp.

Rooms at Tubu Tree Camp
Unwind and relax, in your own private luxury
Standard Twin Tent
Tubu Tree Camp has only eight luxury tented rooms, all with polished wooden floors and an en suite bathroom with a toilet, shower and stone basin. Raised on wooden platforms for excellent views, the tents have an intimate, private front deck and a romantic outdoor shower. There is one family tent and one honeymoon tent. Some guests may prefer the simplicity of the ‘sleep-out’ platform, which is located a short drive away from camp in a spectacular setting and accommodates between four and eight people. You spend the night either on a bed or a comfortable bed roll, with basic ablution facilities nearby. A highly qualified guide is on standby to ensure your safety at all times and in case you need assistance during the night.
General Facilities
The main dining and lounge areas at Tubu Tree Camp are large, elegantly decorated tents on raised platforms built amongst the trees and boasting fantastic views over the Okavango Delta floodplains.
The social areas lead out onto a wooden viewing deck while the quirky outdoor pub incorporates the branches of a large marula tree into its design. Many after-dinner conversations occur at the bar or around the fire pit in front of camp. Further along a wooden walkway is the camp’s swimming pool, complete with a number of sun loungers well positioned to take in the views of the floodplains.
The Bush Buddy programme caters to both preteens and teenagers with exciting and stimulating activities like bird and animal call identification, scrapbooking with leaves, insects and even dung, and a bush treasure hunt.
