A hidden gem in Kenya's vast biodiverse landscape of Laikipia County, Tumaren Camp is located on a 10,000-acre plateau of animal-rich open grasslands. A well-loved and shielded conservancy, the camp has thrived since the region's revival of plains game. Lions, cheetahs, and leopards can also be spotted sauntering along undulating ridges dotted with acacia trees. The conservancy is also home to a number of protected species including the endangered black & white rhino.

Tumaren Camp is a premier guest lodge, a welcomed addition to the Karisia Walking Safaris basecamp, situated on old ranchlands. Sleep soundly in a spacious canvas-sided tent with roll-up doors that open onto a cosy veranda accompanied by a shaded seating area. A plush double bed beckons you to relaxation after a long day’s safari. Ample cupboard spaces will allow you to unpack and settle in for an at-home stay.

Each tent comes with a quaint lounge area for you to kick back with a good book. A private en-suite bathroom with washbasin and walk-in shower offers a refreshing space to clean off the day’s adventure. Upgrade your tent to a more spacious family tent with partitions and the option of extra beds for families with small children or friends looking to bunk together.

General Facilities

Alongside practical amenities such as laundry services, the camp offers a limited electrical supply, with Wi-Fi available at the main office and charging stations in the communal sitting room. Solar power will ensure that each tent and its surroundings are well-lit. Tumaren Camp features a spectacular 20-metre swimming pool facing the expansive grassland. Additionally, there are relaxing communal lounge areas where you can enjoy activities such as reading, animal watching, and savouring delicious cocktails.
