Ulusaba Safari Lodge
Per Person Sharing
Situated in the heart of the Sabi Sand Reserve, bordering the world-renowned Kruger National Park, Ulusaba Safari Lodge lies beneath a canopy of ancient jackalberry trees and offers a truly remarkable wilderness experience. Ideal for families (only children over 12 permitted) and romantics alike, the lodge has only eight rooms, promising privacy and uninterrupted views of the beautiful African savannah.
There is a long suspension bridge that acts as a walkway over an established elephant wallow; watch them play in the mud as you sauter along the swing bridge and be sure to have your camera to hand.
The lodge is perched on the edge of a dry riverbed and you will regularly see animals walking past on their way to the watering hole. Relax beside the swimming pool and enjoy these views or head out on twice-daily game drives to search for Africa’s Big 5. A daily walking safari, guided by an expert ranger and tracker, will teach you more about the diverse ecosystems, while a visit to the observatory in the evening will give you the chance to enjoy unspoilt stargazing.

The Elephant and River Rooms are situated a little further from the main lodge area, and create a more private safari home. They also offer much more space and are elevated to enjoy incredible views over the surrounding wilderness.
Two have their own plunge pools, a welcome respite on hot summer afternoons.
The Treehouse Suite is ideal for romantics who want to enjoy a completely secluded, luxurious safari. The suite overlooks the nearby Xikwenga Dam and is a 15-minute walk on a raised walkway from the main lodge. Here you will also find a private dining area on the large wooden deck, offering incredible views of the dam.
The Safari Rooms are situated close to the main lodge area and are spacious, comfortable and elegantly decorated in African colours and natural elements. En suite bathrooms feature ball-and-claw bathtubs and separate showers, while the room has a beautiful king-sized bed, mosquito nets, air conditioning and a ceiling fan
At the Aroma Boma spa treatment centre, you can expect to relax entirely as you enjoy a range of beauty treatments and massages by the professional, highly-trained therapists.
The comfortable, welcoming lounge area has an open fireplace where you can share stories of your day or simply enjoy a nightcap before turning in.
The swimming pool is the best place to cool down after a thrilling morning safari, and you can soak up even more of the African sun on the deck chairs as you sip on a cocktail or refreshing fruit juice.

Meals at Ulusaba are definitely events to remember, as the resident chefs strive toward creating the perfect fine dining experience. Enjoy your delicious breakfasts, lunches and dinner either at the African boma, a traditional meeting place around a large campfire, or on the lantern-lit deck that enjoys beautiful views of the surrounds.
Pair your meals with one of the many exquisite South African wines on offer to make dinners a truly memorable affair. For a more romantic dinner, you can head out further into the bush for a private bush dinner, where you’ll sit down to a delicious meal, accompanied by the sounds of the surrounding wilderness.
With touches of African flair, this lodge offers a variety of extras including wine tastings in the bush. With top notch staff you will really be made to feel part of the family!

Ulusaba Safari Lodge was simply unreal! We couldn't have asked for a better experience.
Just wanted to say thank you for helping us organize our Sabi Sands trip – we had the best time and found it very difficult to leave! We were lucky enough to be the only passengers on the Skukusa / Ulusaba flight both ways so it felt like a private transfer. Ulusaba was exceptional from start to finish – we had excellent game drives, personalized service and lots of unexpected surprises including a ‘bush bar’ one night after the game drive where they'd set up an outdoor bar in front of a bonfire where we were treated to a performance from some of the local singers / dancers!
We were also really glad we chose Safari Lodge over Rock Lodge after seeing both properties. Rock Lodge has incredible views, but at Safari Lodge we were amongst the action and we even had elephants walking past our room which was really special. We would definitely recommend it and also hope to return back there some time in the future.
Ulusaba Safari Lodge (thanks Kathryn for suggesting I should end our holiday here) was a dream come true. I do not have words to describe the experience, I could see all Big 5 couple of times, brilliant location, lovely and attentive staff. I have food preference that normally restricts the food choices but I was served with delicious food and a 7-course candlelight dinner on our last day (it was too hot and too dry for camp/bonfire cultural activity but I didn’t miss it). I felt very safe on game drives because of ranger and tracker. Both of them were very knowledgeable and passionate about wildlife and all for responsible tourism. I really appreciate that he didn’t rush us in covering distance and made sure the animals were at ease with distance. I loved the lookout tower and was there everyday. They also upgraded us to a plunge pool suite for our last two nights when I mentioned we were planning to book but it was not available for the three nights.
We absolutely loved South Africa and nearly everything was beyond our expectations. Ulusaba was also exceptional. The accommodation was beautiful, the safari incredible and the service without fault.
The Ulusaba experience was great. The lodge, staff, ranger and tracker were all top quality. In two days I was able to see the Magnificent 7! I would certainly recommend.
