Nestled on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River, Victoria Falls River Lodge is the first private game lodge to be built within the Zambezi National Park. Its privileged position – so close to the Falls you can see their spray in the distance – offers uninterrupted wilderness views and provides the most idyllic riverside sanctuary from which to take in a glorious sunset over the water. Excellent wildlife viewing, charming accommodation and fine dining on the doorstep of one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World tick all the boxes for a superb Zimbabwean safari experience. The main lodge’s open-plan design makes the most of the elephants' natural evening walking route, which allows you to watch them graze along the river from under the shade of the thatched viewing deck.

Between expertly guided 4x4 game drives within the 60 000 hectare national park, spend your time relaxing around the lodge and enjoying the panoramic views of the Zambezi River. Take a dip in the secluded swimming pool, which is also a serene spot to read a book or simply sit back and soak up the captivating wilderness. A boat cruise along the hippo and crocodile-filled river is a thrilling way to experience the mighty Zambezi and probably the world’s best location to watch the sun setting. For even more relaxation, treat yourself to a self-indulgent in-suite massage. Sleep under canvas each night in your well-equipped tent and listen as hippos cavort in the nearby river as you drift off to sleep.

Luxury Tent

Offering a luxury camping experience, the spacious safari tents are more like canvas apartments than tents at all. Each one is tastefully decorated in earthy hues and equipped with a comfortable sitting area and extra-length, king-sized bed. The en suite bathroom features a free-standing bath and, if you would prefer to bathe outside with the hippos, there is an outdoor shower on the private viewing deck from where you can enjoy uninterrupted wilderness views.

Tented Family Suite

Family tents feature an additional tented room equipped with one single and one bunk bed, which comfortably sleeps three children and allows parents more privacy.

The main lodge is equipped with an open-air dining and sitting area that has captivating views of the Zambezi. A sparkling swimming pool provides respite from afternoon heat while heavenly in-suite massages take pampering to the next level. The lodge is able to transport guests who wish to enjoy any of the activities on offer around the Falls, some of which include white-water rafting, bungee jumping, micro lighting and helicopter rides.

With a kitchen specially designed by American chef Bruce Bromberg, the cuisine at the lodge’s restaurant is of an exceptionally high standard. The menu caters to all tastes with an exciting variety of traditional African dishes that incorporate international flavours.
