A Note About Flying to Africa

Although some international commercial airlines require passengers to produce a negative COVID-19 certificate obtained within 72 hours of departure, it’s vital to know what the exact entry requirements are for your destination country in Africa – stay up to date here. Please ensure you are familiar with the COVID-19 health and safety protocols of your selected commercial airline before you depart on your international flight, or get in touch with your Africa Safari Expert for up-to-date advice.

Health & Safety Protocols for Charter Airlines in Africa

The African airports you will visit during your trip adhere to the World Health Organization’s guidelines for health and safety. Our charter airline partners follow the requirements of their respective civil aviation authorities and have the following measures in place to improve hygiene in their airport lounges and on their planes:

  • Multiple hand sanitisation points.
  • Social distancing where possible.
  • Airport staff and cabin crew are required to undergo daily health screening and temperature checks, and wear masks.
  • Frequent sanitisation of baggage trays and frequently touched surfaces.
  • Cargo and baggage handlers are required to wear masks and gloves.
  • Luggage are disinfected before loaded into the plane.
  • Aircraft are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before every flight.

Coastal Aviation

  • Health screening and body temperature scans.
  • Wearing masks at all times – masks are available for sale.
  • Maintaining social distances of 2 metres (6.5 feet) where possible.

Federal Airlines

  • Health screening and body temperature scans.
  • Wearing masks at all times.
  • Maintaining social distances of 1.5 metres (5 feet) where possible.
  • No food is served on board – only bottled water and soft drinks are available.

Mack Air

  • Wearing cotton masks at all times – available free of charge for all passengers.
  • Maintaining social distancing where possible.

Proflight Zambia

  • Maintain social distancing where possible.
  • A limited, single catering service will be provided with items in sealed packets or containers.

  • No inflight catering services available.
