Go2Africa is recruiting for an experienced Commercial Executive to join the Leadership team! The role of the Commercial Executive is to ensure the effective and efficient control over the growth plan of the organisation by identifying, developing, and implementing commercial strategies to accelerate growth. The key aspects of the role relate to increasing enquiry to customer conversion, overall customer satisfaction, and strategic project operationalisation. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset, strong leadership skills, coupled with strong analytical and numerical skills that can turn data into actionable insight. The ideal candidate will also be a creative strategist with excellent organizational abilities.

The role requires both a strategic conceptualisation focus and the ability to motivate and enable teams to execute. The Commercial Executive is a close partner to the Managing Director, and together with the MD will report strategic and operational aspects to the Company’s board of directors.

Candidate requirements



  • 12-15 years post article experience; or relevant experience with an MBA
  • 7+ years managerial experience
  • Proven experience as Commercial Director or another relevant role
  • Proven experience in B2C sales
  • Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes




  • Qualified CIMA, CA or MBA

Strategic leadership

  • Conceptualise, lead and execute upon growth strategies
  • Define and evaluate key performance metrics per strategy and/or project
  • Investigations to highlight and execute on opportunities and enhance efficiencies
  • Motivate and enable project teams to execute effectively on developed strategies
  • Support the Financial Manager with translating the strategy into implementation and achievement of annual revenue forecasts, budgets, and plans
  • Support the Head of Sales with setting sales and revenue targets and work with the Head of Sales to achieve these
  • Cultivate productive relationships at all levels and in all teams to support growth and efficiency gains



Strategic sales enhancement

  • Alignment with Head of Sales and Head of Sales Operations to ensure sales targets are achieved
  • Support sales conversion efforts with the Head of Sales and finding new opportunities and efficiencies for the sales and operations team
  • Constant enhancement of lead allocation strategy


Financial leadership

  • Providing leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting team
  • Providing strategic recommendations to the MD executive team
  • Support the Financial Manager with translating the strategy into implementation and achievement of annual revenue forecasts, budgets, and plans
  • Advising on long-term business and financial planning


Business enablement

  • Management of business intelligence requirements across all teams
  • Management of IT risks and enablement and oversight of the operationalisation thereof



  • Development of management KPIs and monitoring management performance against KPIs
  • Contribution to overall group strategy and performance projects
  • Oversight of all legal matters in the business, including ownership of all contracts with relevant stakeholders
