Role summary

Go2Africa is recruiting for the role of a Content Manager / Editor. In collaboration with the Head of Marketing (Brand, Content, PR), the successful candidate will spearhead Go2Africa’s written content creation efforts. Key components of this role will center around content planning and editing. The ideal candidate is highly organized and both a creative and analytical thinker who can contribute from strategy through execution, ensuring all content is high quality, accurate, on time, error-free, brand aligned and ultimately delivers on its goal.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Matric
  • Tertiary Degree in Journalism, English, Creative Writing, Marketing or any other related field
  • Additional study certificates or courses: copywriting, copy-editing, proof reading, SEO, copyediting, digital marketing, social media marketing, etc. (Advantageous)

 Experience

  • Minimum 3 – 5 years copywriting / travel writing experience
  • Minimum 1 – 2 years online editorial experience
  • Minimum 1 – 2 years content management experience
  • Excellent writing skills supported by a portfolio of previous work
  • Experience in brand building through content for web and / or social media channels
  • Africa / Safari travel marketing / publication experience (Advantageous)

 Knowledge of

  • English language (spoken and written)
  • Writing (travel), copywriting and editing
  • Content Management Systems (WordPress)
  • SEO copywriting best practices
  • Content Marketing Strategies and best practices
  • Digital marketing platforms (Unbounce, Mailchimp)
  • African / Safari travel and / or luxury tourism industry
