Full Stack Developer

Go2Africa is recruiting for the role of Full Stack Developer on behalf of the Nawiri Group. This role, and the ideal candidate will bring knowledge of current coding practices to realise new user journeys and focus on enhancing the backend framework of the Go2Africa website and potentially other entity websites.

They will be working with the Marketing team and reporting to the Digital Product Owner to ensure they are working in line with the team vision. The role is based at our Waterfront office. The company offers a hybrid working model with every Tuesday based in office.

Qualifications

• Matric
• Tertiary Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field

Experience

Essential

• 5+ years of experience building enterprise level Wordpress websites/applications.
• Excellent knowledge and experience with PHP templating engines such as Symfony/TWIG.
• Strong experience with Git and working with a team to deploy version-controlled code using Continuous Integration.
• Strong knowledge of CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap & SCSS.
• A solid understanding of JavaScript (ES6) and framework features, patterns, and best practices.
• Experience with cloud providers such as AWS
• Comfortable using software development management tools like the Atlassian suite (JIRA, etc.)
• Experience of working with branding and corporate identity - advantageous

• Backend Development (Wordpress, Simfony, TWIG, PHP, Mysql)
• Frontend Development (HTML, SCSS, Bootstrap)
• API management (RestServer)
• Site & Server performance (Pagely, Vercel)
• Maintain AWs & CDN storage
• Quality assurance

Key responsibility areas

• Strive to take ownership and build in-depth knowledge of the site architecture and systems.
• Ability to become proficient with our stack quickly and understand our products’ technical capabilities.
• Build new features and functionality by writing clean, functional, and well documented code.
• Create new and manage existing page templates by integrating Frontend Bootstrap html markup and SCSS.
• Enabling Elastic Search indexing and furthering 3rd Party API Integrations.
• Provide and test performance enhancements.
• Own and complete development cycles during sprints
• Produce and maintain technical documentation.
