Role introduction

Go2Africa is looking for an ambitious performance marketer to fill a newly created role that will help take our lead growth to the next level.


The Performance Marketing Specialist will be responsible for day-to-day management and optimisation of Go2Africa’s paid digital marketing channels to grow lead acquisition at a target ROI. Our primary lead channels are Paid Search (Google and Bing) and Paid Social, and we have a fledgling Affiliate program. We’re also keen to diversify our digital lead acquisition effort by evaluating, testing and scaling new, efficient paid channels and partners, including Twitter, Spotify, Pinterest etc.


The Performance Marketing Specialist will need to stay up to date with travel and performance marketing trends to be able to combine hands on channel management with overseeing a digital marketing agency who support our Paid Search efforts.


The role sits within the Marketing team and is based in our Cape Town office. We currently have a hybrid working system with 1-2 days per week in the office and the remainder remote working.

Candidate requirements



  • Minimum of 3 years’ performance marketing experience
  • Management of >ZAR5M annual performance marketing budget
  • Hand on experience setting up, optimizing and managing Paid Search and Paid Social campaigns
  • Experienced user of: GoogleAds, MicrosoftAds, Google Analytics, FacebookAds
  • Ability to create and use audiences to target specific user groups
  • Aptitude for spreadsheet-based data analysis



  • Experience of working in travel, safaris or luxury goods industries
  • Hands on experience of managing an affiliate program
  • Experience of selling products or services that convert offline

A second European language




  • Relevant Digital Marketing certifications



  • Degree or Diploma Marketing, or another relevant Tertiary qualification

Functional responsibilities

  • Responsibility for driving paid marketing strategy for G2A (search, social, affiliates +new paid opportunities)
  • Optimise paid search campaigns to ensure we hit business KPIs
  • Monthly and annual forecasts partner forecasts follow by appropriate budget management
  • Provide performance updates to the Marketing team and wider business
  • Use of Google and Facebook audiences to better target ads and messaging
  • Identify landing page optimisation opportunities
  • Plan, execute and analyse experiments to drive growth
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and best practises
  • Research competitor marketing activities
  • Maintain partnerships with relevant vendors and agencies
