Go2Africa is hiring an SEO Specialist on behalf of the Nawiri Group.

 

As the SEO Specialist, you will be responsible for analysing, planning and implementing our SEO strategies. As our online presence is extremely important for the success of business, your position will play a huge role in driving our business' growth and success.

 

You will work closely with the Head of SEO along with our Product teams, content, developers and design team. We are looking for an analytical and perceptive professional who is a skilled communicator and able to collaborate with various teams. Current knowledge of SEO practices and techniques is essential to this role.

Nawiri Group holds controlling interests in a portfolio of leading responsible-travel companies and supports a range of impact organizations and initiatives in some of the greatest, globally important natural wilderness areas on the African continent. Our roots date back to the nineties when some of the companies within Nawiri Group were first established. Across various brands we employ more than 1,000 people and have a footprint of 20 camps and lodges in Kenya and Tanzania, as well as commercial and support offices in multiple countries.

Candidate requirements

Essential

  • 3+ years proven SEO experience
  • Proficient on WordPress and relevant SEO plugins (RankMath, PerfMatters, etc).
  • Sound technical SEO background and thorough understanding of its place in the digital marketing portfolio
  • Proficient in SEO tools such as Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Minimum 4 years’ experience as an SEO Specialist
  • Proficient in MS Office (i.e., Word / Excel / PowerPoint etc.). Good command of the English language (both verbal and written)
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritise and make progress on multiple concurrent projects as well as share progress with your HOD

Desirable

  • Experience of working in travel, safaris or luxury goods industries.
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics, Tag Manager and Looker Studio.
  • Experience of optimising Umbraco websites
  • An understanding of HTML
  • A second European language.
  • Good to have - Proficiency in Looker Studio.

Functional responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Head of SEO to provide on- and off-page optimisation across 3 brands and websites
  • Put forward strategic recommendations and develop keyword-targeted content.
  • Perform keyword research to identify coverage gaps and emerging trends across various sections, and pitch content ideas to Head of SEO.
  • Develop SEO content strategies for evergreen, timely, and event-based content.
  • Review copy edit, review and audit written articles for SEO best practices.
  • Monitor and track reporting on traffic and rankings.
  • Stay up to date on latest industry trends and Google's web standards and translate them into workable solutions.
  • Develop strategic SEO plans and goals to support key marketing campaign initiatives.
  • Identify custom SEO KPIs for campaigns.
  • Analyse, summarise, and present results to Head of SEO and relevant marketing teams.
  • Communicate to appropriate team members who will execute content, local messaging, and technical needs.
  • Oversee tactical execution of all SEO initiatives, and optimization of our path to conversion including keyword mapping, technical enhancements, meta data, schema markup.
  • Conduct competitor analysis to identify areas of opportunity and improvement for brands.
  • Collaborate with other teams, including content and development, to ensure SEO best practices are implemented.
  • Perform technical audits to ensure SEO elements are optimimised and not hindering organic performance and identify opportunities for further improvements.
  • Support link building campaigns with assistance from external agencies in coordination with SEO goals.
  • Conduct outreach for guest posting opportunities.
