Tucked away within the Thornybush Game Reserve bordering the Greater Kruger National Park, Serondella offers an intimate safari experience with exceptional guiding and genuine personal service. Hosting a maximum of just 14 guests at any one time, the lodge combines rewarding Big Five game viewing with the exclusivity of sharing the wilderness with only a handful of other travellers.
Days begin and end with expertly guided game drives led by an expert field guide and tracker, while seasonal bush walks, bush breakfasts and sundowners bring a different perspective to every stay. Between safaris, cool off in the heated infinity pool overlooking Inyoni Pan, unwind with a treatment at the Matlakusa Spa or simply watch wildlife gather at the waterhole from one of the lodge’s peaceful viewing areas.
With luxury suites, spacious family accommodation and an exclusive-use villa, Serondella is well suited to couples, families and small groups alike. Its location within Thornybush also makes it easy to combine with Cape Town, the Panorama Route or neighbouring private reserves for a classic South African safari itinerary.

Suites
Set beneath the shade of mature trees along the waterhole, the Luxury Suites provide a peaceful retreat between safari activities. Contemporary interiors are complemented by natural textures, while outdoor baths and showers create a stronger connection to the surrounding wilderness. Flexible king or twin-bed configurations make these suites well suited to couples or friends travelling together.

Designed with families in mind, the Family Suites feature two en-suite bedrooms linked by a private lounge, creating generous shared living space without compromising privacy. A unique star bath and inviting outdoor areas encourage guests to spend as much time as possible immersed in the sights and sounds of the bush.

Between game drives, the heated infinity pool overlooking Inyoni Pan provides a front-row seat to the wildlife that visits the waterhole throughout the day. The Matlakusa Spa, fully-equipped gym, wine cellar and library provide plenty of opportunities to unwind before heading back into the bush for the day's activities.
With a maximum of just 14 guests, Serondella never feels busy or crowded. The lodge’s intimate scale allows for personalised service, while its welcoming communal spaces make it easy to share stories from the day’s sightings over a drink in the spacious lounge or outside around the fire.
