Discover the wild heart of southern Tanzania on a journey through two of the country’s largest and most unspoilt national parks before ending with a blissful island escape in the Indian Ocean. Spend three nights in Nyerere National Park (previously Selous),  followed by three nights in the remote wilderness of Ruaha National Park, enjoying exceptional game viewing, luxurious tented accommodation and warm Tanzanian hospitality throughout.

From thrilling game drives and guided walking safaris to boat excursions along the Rufiji River, each day offers new opportunities to experience Africa’s remarkable wildlife and landscapes.     Your thrilling safari adventure begins when you arrive in Tanzania at Dar Es Salaam Airport. Meet your representative and transfer to Laba Siwandu Camp, your home for the next three nights. Ideally located in the spectacular Nyerere National Park, this is the perfect base from which to explore Tanzania’s least known, yet wildest, game reserve.

    Spend the coming days going on game drives to see the great elephant herds and visiting the Rufiji River, the largest river in East Africa and home to the largest crocodile and hippo populations on the continent. After a day of river safaris and bush walks, return to the camp to relax.

    Siwandu Camp is located within an open palm forest on the shores of Lake Nzerakera, giving you the opportunity to sit in your veranda and watch the sun set over the beautiful surrounding landscape.

      After breakfast, transfer to the bush airstrip for your flight to Ruaha National Park. Here you will be met by a representative who will transfer you to Laba Jongomero Camp – the only accommodation within the spectacular Ruaha National Park.

      Spend your time going on game drives, exploring the river and identifying the many different bird species. Experience a delicious bush dinner or picnic lunch while observing the magnificent hippos frolicking in the river.

      Enjoy the rest of your leisure time in the camp, relaxing in the natural rock pool. Your nights are spent in comfortable thatched tents with their own viewing decks.

        Today you take off to Tanzania’s coast where you head over to a tiny wisp of an isle, curled around a coral reef south of Dar es Salaam. Laba Fanjove Private Island will be your home to explore for the final four nights of this itinerary.

        Fanjove is a place where each day unfolds at your own pace, whether you choose to fill it with adventure or simply embrace complete relaxation. Snorkel or kayak directly from the beach, set sail on a traditional sunset dhow cruise, explore the underwater world on a scuba-diving excursion, or enjoy an unhurried stroll around the island.

        With only a handful of fellow guests and the warm hospitality of the staff from nearby Songosongo Island, the island feels wonderfully secluded. An old lighthouse and the occasional passing fisherman are the only gentle reminders that the outside world lies beyond this idyllic escape.
