The first leg of this 2-part journey takes you to one of Botswana’s most beautiful conservation areas, the Okavango Delta. This incredible natural wonder was created millions of years ago by the shifting of Africa’s Great Rift Valley, and today millions of gallons of water flood the Delta each year, creating a wonderland of wooded islands, permanent lily-filled swamps and lagoons, and seasonal floodplains dotted with palms, sausage trees, fig trees and scrub. The Delta offers good year-round game viewing of iconic African game, and you can also sight an abundance of water-loving birds and uncommon aquatic antelope like lechwe and sitatunga.
Your journey then crosses over to Linyanti, another of Botswana’s water habitats that is dominated by permanent rivers and vast floodplains. This region is known in particular for its excellent sightings of endangered African wild dogs but also has large herds of buffalo and elephant as well as healthy populations of all the big cats.
Accommodation is in small tented camps and you will travel between each destination on a light aircraft. Transfers are quick and convenient, taking you to the most untouched and remote locations and allowing you to appreciate Africa’s landscapes from the air.
