Days 5-8: The magic of Sun City | 4 Nights

Up arrow
Sun City, South Africa

This morning you board a flight to Johannesburg from where you are privately chauffeured to The Palace of the Lost City – a 5-star hotel within Sun City. This fairytale African palace towering over a scenic valley is surrounded by lush gardens with trickling waterfalls and hidden walking trails. Its design was conceived from the ruins of a mythical ancient African tribe who ruled the surrounding Pilanesberg mountains. From the moment you set foot into the lobby, the intricate sky-high ceiling, mosaic artworks and golden zebra-hide furniture set a precedent for sophistication befitting royalty. Close to the hotel is the Valley of the Waves, which comprises a sandy beach and wave pool for swimming with waterslides for the young at heart to enjoy. Golfers have their pick of two championship courses and the health spa is a sanctuary designed to melt your stress away. The Grand Pool at the Palace might be the most exquisite you will ever see. Aside from sunbathing and swimming exclusive to Palace guests, you can enjoy light meals and drinks while relaxing around the tranquil water. With floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the lush gardens and its grand fountains, the Crystal Court is a suitably regal place to enjoy afternoon High Tea, and the lavish 5-course dinners are accompanied by an impressive list of international wines. Hand-carved teak tusks create three archways in the Tusk Lounge where you can enjoy a cognac and cigar between dinner and retiring to your extravagant suite.
