Spend 11 days exploring the best of Kenya and Tanzania as you travel across these two East African countries, visiting their most renowned wildlife parks and reserves. Meet traditional Maasai warriors and learn about their culture as you traverse these vast plains and beautiful landscapes.

The tour starts in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. After paying a visit to Kenya's Sweetwaters Game Sanctuary you will continue on to discover the world-renowned Masai Mara before heading off to Tanzania.

Visit the renowned Serengeti for exceptional wildlife sightings. From here, you will journey to the Ngorongoro Crater and descend into the ancient caldera to view game on the crater floor. Pay a visit to Lake Manyara - a birder's paradise - before ending your holiday in Arusha, Africa's safari capital and coffee-growing epicentre.

Day 1: Arrive in Nairobi

Day 1: Arrive in Nairobi | 1 Night

Nairobi, Kenya

Today you will arrive in Nairobi, Kenya's vibrant and bustling capital city. Check into Nairobi Serena Hotel and spend the afternoon at leisure, enjoying the tranquil grounds, exploring the city, or making use of some of the facilities on offer at the hotel.

Days 2-3: Explore the Sweetwaters Game Sanctuary | 2 Nights

Up arrow

After breakfast, you'll transfer to Nairobi's Wilson Airport for your scheduled flight to Nanyuki, giving you the opportunity to see this beautiful landscape from the air. On arrival, you'll be met and transferred to your camp in the Sweetwaters Game Sanctuary in time for lunch.

After enjoying a relaxing meal, you'll go on your first game drive in this small, but wildlife-rich, Big 5 sanctuary. Enjoy dinner back at the Sweetwaters Tented Camp and drink in the noises of the wild as evening sets in.

Days 4-5: Be immersed in the Masai Mara | 2 Nights

Masai Mara, Kenya

After breakfast, you will transfer back to the bush airstrip and fly to the world-renowned Masai Mara, arriving in time for lunch at the Mara Serena Lodge. Go on a thrilling afternoon game drive and return for an African-themed dinner.

The next day will be spent out on the plains searching for animals and birdlife, including wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, topi, elephant, buffalo and giraffe. Predators are also regularly seen, so keep an eye out for lion and hyena. Host of the spectacular annual wildebeest migration, this park is Kenya's premier wildlife-viewing destination and a definite tour highlight.

Days 6-7: Discover the mighty Serengeti | 2 Nights

Serengeti, Tanzania

Today you will leave Kenya behind as you head to Isebania border post and cross into Tanzania. Continue on to the mighty Serengeti's Grumeti region and view game on your way to the Serengeti Serena Lodge.

The next day is yours to discover Tanzania's exceptional Serengeti National Park on morning and afternoon game drives and optional nature walks. Meaning 'the endless plains that go up to the sky', this vast wilderness area is home to a multitude of plains game and plenty of hungry predators.

If you happen to be here during the Great Migration, you'll witness hundreds of thousands of wildebeest getting ready to cross over the Mara River - a spectacle to behold.

Days 8-9: Descend the Ngorongoro Crater | 2 Nights

Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania

After breakfast you'll leave the Serengeti National Park behind and make your way towards the Ngorongoro Crater, another Tanzanian highlight. Arrive at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge in time for lunch and enjoy a visit to a local Maasai village in the afternoon.

Set out by 4x4 the next morning into the Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest intact volcanic caldera, and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. The crater floor comprises of forest, swamps, lakes, open grasslands and even sandy dunes. This diverse landscape enables a huge variety of animals to live and thrive here, including the Big 5.

Leave the Crater in the early afternoon and head back to the lodge for lunch. The afternoon is yours to spend at leisure.

Day 10: Visit Lake Manyara | 1 Night

Lake Manyara, Tanzania

Depart from the Ngorongoro Conservation Area after breakfast and make a stop at Mto wa Mbu, where you'll go on a guided walk that combines a cultural visit with the locals and the exceptional nature of the Rift Valley. Continue on to the Lake Manyara Serena Lodge where you'll enjoy lunch before going on an afternoon game drive in the beautiful Lake Manyara National Park. The lake itself is home to an impressive variety of birdlife, and the park is known for its unusual tree-climbing lions.

Day 11: Say goodbye to the wilderness
