Beginning with a night under canvas in the unique Nairobi National Park, this 9-day safari explores some of the most productive areas of the Masai Mara from the comfort of luxurious tented camps, complete with delicious 3-course suppers under the stars. The emphasis is on exclusivity, exceptional experiences and personalised service: you have a private guide and vehicle while on safari in the Masai Mara and you can design your own timetable and menu around your preferences.

Moving between two different camps in the greater Masai Mara region gives you the advantage of covering a larger area for game sightings. Ngare Serian lies in the private Mara North Conservancy and adds spot-lit night drives and guided walks to its list of activities. Ngare Nkorombo lies on the banks of the Mara River and offers front-row seats to the most dramatic of all events in the Masai Mara when tens of thousands of wildebeest arrive to cross its crocodile-infested waters.

And although the Masai Mara is best known for the annual Wildebeest Migration, such is the depth of biodiversity here that excellent wildlife sightings are enjoyed throughout the year. The familiar heavyweights are in abundance – elephants, buffalo, hippo and giraffe – and the open wooded savannah is ideal hunting territory for lions, cheetahs and spotted hyenas. Recommended for wildlife lovers and photographers, the intimate and private nature of this tour makes it a perfect fit for an unforgettable honeymoon or extra-special journey.

Day 1: Under Canvas | 1 Night

You arrive at Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport - East Africa's international flight hub - where a tour representative will meet and transfer you to Nairobi Tented Camp, a short drive from the airport. This unique stopover is tucked away in a beautiful riverside forest within in the Nairobi National Park, a protected swathe of woodland and savannah that is home to lions, zebra and giraffe. Your spacious tented suite has solar-powered lighting and battery-recharging points while the bathroom has a charming safari-style bucket shower that is filled with hot water on request. Day 2-5: A Private Mara Safari | 4 Nights

Masai Mara, Kenya

Breakfast at Nairobi Tented Camp is followed by a road transfer to Nairobi's Wilson Airport for a shared charter flight to the Masai Mara. Your guide meets you on arrival and transfers you via a game drive to the private Mara North Conservancy and Ngare Serian, your home for the next four nights. Settle into your tented suite before sitting down to a welcome lunch and a chat with your guide about the next few days' activities, perhaps starting with an afternoon game drive.

Known as the Masai Mara's most intimate camp, Ngare Serian only has four suites and is reached either via a charming roped bridge or by boat, giving it a truly adventurous air. The camp itself is stylish and contemporary: elevated decking offers superb views and its spacious tented suites feature a 4-poster bed and full bathroom with flush toilet, twin basins, a sunken bathtub and a separate shower. Each suite also comes with a private guide and vehicle, a somewhat unique advantage for game viewing, allowing you to decide when and where to go - complete with picnic breakfast or afternoon drinks.

Day 6-8: On the Banks of the Mara River | 3 Nights

A drive from Ngare Serian takes you to its sister camp, Serian Nkorombo, which enjoys a private riverside setting along the banks of the Mara River. Its five Meru-style tents are equipped in a traditional style with comfortable beds, plush carpets and en suite bathrooms with flush toilets and bucket showers. A mobile camp with the lightest of environmental footprints, Nkorombo offers a more rustic experience and although there is no electricity in the suites, there is a central charging area for batteries and electrical devices.

Your activities centre on morning and afternoon drives in the Masai Mara where you once again have your own vehicle, guide and tracker for personalised game drives. An area of year-round wildlife, the Mara River region is where some of the most dramatic scenes play out between June and November when migrating wildebeest herds pass through, dodging the flashing jaws of crocodiles as they cross the river. Back at camp you have star-lit suppers and fireside conversations to look forward to, complete with vintage wines and champagnes from the Serian cellar.
