Day to day
You will be collected at Lilongwe International Airport for a shared minibus transfer to your idyllic lake side destination, The Makokola Retreat. The retreat is located on the southern tip of Lake Malawi and your transfer takes just over three hours by road. On arrival, check into your comfortable Beach Room, furnished with a king-sized bed or twin beds as well as an en suite bathroom with a separate shower and bathtub. Outside, you have your own private sun terrace furnished with comfortable chairs.
Your stay at The Makokola Retreat includes all meals and selected beverages, as well as selected activities. The days are yours to enjoy the wide variety of adventures on offer, or to simply recline on a comfortable day bed or check into the spa for total luxury and pampering.
Water-based activities include boating, sailing, snorkeling, canoeing and motorized watersports like water skiing. A range of historical tours and village visits are available for the more culturally inclined, with guided walks and birding expeditions for nature lovers.
Sports enthusiasts can enjoy tennis facilities and large swimming pool, as well as the Mlambe Golf Course, which is located just next door to the resort.
Bid farewell to the beautiful Lake Malawi and hop on your return minibus transfer to Lilongwe International Airport for your onward travel arrangements.
