Cape Town, Cape Town Central, South Africa

Arrive in Cape Town and collect your rental car before making your way to the Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel. Alternatively, we can arrange to transfer you to the hotel and deliver your vehicle there. Located just off vibrant Kloof Street in the upscale Gardens neighbourhood, the Cape Cadogan is close to many of the city's best travel locations, shops and restaurants.

Head to the top of Table Mountain in the cable car, take a short scenic drive to one of the many sandy beaches, or go shopping at the V&A Waterfront. Take a boat to Robben Island and learn about its history and Nelson Mandela's imprisonment, or take a beautiful trip along Chapman's Peak Drive to Cape Point, visiting the many quaint seaside towns along the way.

If you enjoy wine, consider a day trip to the Constantia Winelands, which are over three centuries old, or venture further afield to the famed estates of Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl.

Today you will take a beautiful drive to the Whale Coast, crossing scenic Sir Lowry's Pass on the way. Arrive at The Marine in Hermanus and settle in to your home for the following three nights. The hotel overlooks the rocky seaside of this beautiful town and offers fantastic views of Walker Bay from the expansive lawn.

Hermanus is known for its excellent land-based whale watching, and it is even possible to see whales frolicking from the comfort of the shore. On day 5, you will take to the sea on professional cruise to seek our southern right whales from June to December when they come to these shores to breed, calve and feed. Between January and May, the cruise will take you to Dyer Island, which is home to hundreds of lively Cape fur seals as well as endangered African penguins.

Leave Hermanus behind as you wind you way along the Garden Route to The Plettenberg in Plettenberg Bay, a vibrant seaside town, and your home for the last three nights. Take a stroll down to Robberg Beach and walk along the soft white sand, often glimpsing whales in the distance. In the winter months, you can hear the whales 'sing' all the way from this Relais & Chateaux property.

The days are yours to discover the many natural attractions in this beautiful area of South Africa. Visit Monkeyland, a forested primate sanctuary, and the delightful Birds of Eden, or venture to the Knysna Elephant Sanctuary and walk hand-in-trunk with rescued elephants from across the continent. If you are especially brave, why not go bungee jumping from the highest jump in the world at Bloukrans Bridge? There is also a selection of golf courses for those who prefer a more relaxing afternoon.
