Per Person Sharing
13 days
Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport (Livingstone)
This 13-day Zambia safari combines three of the country's most rewarding destinations, from the Zambezi River and Victoria Falls to the wildlife-rich landscapes of South Luangwa and the Lower Zambezi. Travelling between regions by light aircraft allows you to experience Zambia's diversity while spending more time out in the bush.
Begin on the banks of the Zambezi River near Victoria Falls, where river cruises, rhino tracking and visits to the Falls offer a mix of wildlife and adventure. Continue to South Luangwa National Park, regarded as one of Africa's finest safari destinations, for exceptional game viewing and time spent exploring the Luangwa Valley. The journey ends in the Lower Zambezi, where game drives, walking safaris and river-based activities reveal a different perspective of Zambia's wilderness.
This itinerary is particularly well-suited to travellers looking for a classic Zambia safari with a balance of varied landscapes, strong game-viewing opportunities and luxury lodges throughout. It also offers an excellent introduction to some of the country's most iconic safari regions.
Thorntree still offers exceptional service from a wonderful team, the trees have grown beautifully since I was last there for the opening to provide pools of shade and the riverfront views from the communal deck or your own suite provide a welcome respite after a busy safari, still one of my favourite lodges in Africa! We also spent a morning in Maunga Village, helping with the school feeding program and to paint the newly built ablutions & renovated classrooms which was such a privilege!
On arrival at Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport, you’ll be met and transferred to Thorntree River Lodge, located within Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park on the banks of the Zambezi River. Positioned close to Victoria Falls, the lodge provides a comfortable base for exploring both the river and surrounding area.
Days here offer a mix of wildlife, culture and adventure. Included activities range from sunrise and sunset river cruises to rhino tracking, canoeing and game drives within Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. You’ll also visit the Zambian side of Victoria Falls, with access to the Zimbabwean side during the low-water season. Additional experiences such as helicopter flights, guided rainforest walks and bungee jumping can be arranged.
Fully Inclusive (All Meals, Selected Beverages)

Lovely luxury camp perfect for either starting or ending off a walking safari circuit. Well located with easy access to the camp coming off the afternoon Proflight, since it’s located at the entrance of the park. Diverse activities are on offer, but it has to be noted that you have to cross the river by boat every time you head out onto an activity and there are no guides stationed at the camps themselves.
After a road transfer to Livingstone Airport, board your scheduled light aircraft flight to Mfuwe, followed by a road transfer to Time + Tide Chinzombo. Set on a sweeping bend of the Luangwa River, the camp combines contemporary design with direct access to one of Zambia's most celebrated safari regions.
Game drives explore South Luangwa National Park, an area known for its high wildlife densities and exceptional predator sightings. Between safari activities, relax beside your private plunge pool overlooking the river or simply enjoy the slower pace of camp life beneath ancient trees. Limited guest numbers create an intimate atmosphere, while the camp's position within a private concession provides excellent access to the surrounding wilderness.
