This wildlife itinerary will bring you close encounters with congregations of giraffes, zebras, and elephants that gather at the water’s edge of the Luangwa River, or sightings of hordes of buffalo as they cross the mighty Zambezi River.
Your journey begins with a four-night stay at the bespoke Lion Camp in the heart of Zambia's foremost wildlife sanctuary, South Luangwa National Park. As the home of the walking safari, you'll delight in daily guided bush walks traversing the expanse of this unfenced reserve. Next, travel southwards for a four-night stay at the exclusive Anabezi Luxury Tented Camp. Situated in the Lower Zambezi National Park, renowned for its water-based safaris, you’ll enjoy tranquil boating and canoeing along the iconic Zambezi River.
This itinerary allows you to explore two renowned Zambian parks. Available from May to October, it offers the best of the dry season with mild temperatures between May and August, while September and October tend to be much hotter, creating the perfect environment for afternoon dips in the pool.
Overall, Lion Camp was excellent. Great location along an almost-dry stream with an abundance of wildlife both from the camp itself and on game drives. The service was top-notch, the staff friendly and efficient. We had some amazing wildlife sightings. Every minute there was something unexpected, and we have thousands of incredible photos. The carmine bee-eaters, which I had been longing to see, arrived on schedule, as promised.
Upon arrival at Lusaka Airport, you'll clear customs and collect your luggage before checking in for your flight to Mfuwe Airport.
