Overview of Savanna Private Game Lodge
Savanna Lodge lies in the Savanna Private Game Lodge, a game-rich corner of the exclusive Sabi Sand Reserve, an area where Big 5 sightings are so frequent that it is not at all unusual (but never guaranteed, of course,) to see lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo on a single game drive.
In case these extraordinary sightings are not enough, the numerous dams and waterholes in front of the lodge also attract much game, especially in the dry winter months when elephants drop by on a daily basis. Savanna Lodge is luxurious, with nine different suites each with their own take on how to relax and rejuvenate in total style in the African bush. There is a viewing loft above the lodge’s lounge that allows you to take in the floodlit waterhole – perfect for avid photographers – or perhaps enjoy a quiet game of chess. The library has facilities to download all your wildlife images and save them digitally to a variety of formats, as well as Wi-Fi. In the evenings, select a vintage from the wine cellar to enjoy with your dinner.
From private plunge pools in some of the suites to outdoor shower atriums and spacious bathrooms with deep, freestanding bathtubs in the centre, Savanna Lodge deserves mention for its luxurious take on the safari experience. It is ideal for honeymooners or couples who want to pair indulgence (like in-room massages) with superb game watching. Families or small groups will love the Savanna Suite, which has its own chef and the delight of every serious safari-goer: your own personal vehicle and guide.
