We would definitely give the Bay Hotel a 5 star rating. The staff was unbelievable, the accommodations were superb and the food was excellent. It may have been partially because of the low occupancy rate during this period but we couldn’t have asked for a friendlier and more supportive staff. Everyone said hello, good morning or good evening, Graham (general manager) introduced himself and offered to help on any problems and we felt we were treated like royalty. The location is 5 star as well. We loved watching the sunsets on the ocean and being able to walk to many restaurants.
Thanks for setting this up for us. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Cape area.

The Bay Hotel was even better than when we stayed in 2002. Our rooms were perfect (down to you again). We all looked round the hotel and decided that if we could have chosen any rooms then it would have been the same three. We had plenty of room and a gorgeous view. We found the hotel very relaxing and there was no pressure to dress up if we didn’t want to. We had fun in the pool and drinking mojitos in the outside bar. All the staff were friendly and had a good sense of humour. We all had treatments in the spa and all enjoyed them.

Hard to say much about The Bay except that it works on pretty well every level. We thought we might find it big and busy and impersonal after the Last Word experiences, but not so. The room and balcony facing the sea were wonderful; the deck and pools were lovely and well-run with staff never far away and always friendly. Some staff – Dario and Zubeidah in the poolside restaurant, Marcella in the breakfast room – were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Other than a revisit to Table Mountain and evening outings to restaurants (Bleu in Camps Bay, La Perla at Seapoint) we hardly left the hotel in our 4 days – a measure of how comfy and relaxing it was.
Small niggles. A few things in our room initially were less than perfect : some dirty cups and a lack of a socket for a reading lamp had to be sorted out on day one, but quickly were. There was a persisting difficulty getting an outside line on the phone. More particularly, the hotel WiFi arrangement seemed to us to be out of step with increasing international norms, with high charges. But these small issues paled next to the wonderful location, spaces and service at the Bay and we wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

We sure liked The Bay Hotel. Very nice room, service and location. We went to Table Mountain, V&A, Cape of Good Hope and sure liked the Boulders penguin park. We were lucky to see baboons and ostriches along the ocean front!

Our hotel room in Cape Town was AMAZING! We couldn’t believe how great the views were of the ocean and Table Mountain. Not to mention shark cage diving was great too! Thank you for recommending we fly out to Cape Town as well… definitely worth the trip.
