Overview of Ndutu Under Canvas Tented Camp
Following the movements of the Great Migration, luxury mobile camp Ndutu Under Canvas Camp promises excellent viewings of the herds of wildebeest, zebra and other wildlife as they move through Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park.
Ndutu’s mobile infrastructure allows the camp to be packed up and moved without leaving anything behind – minimising its impact on the environment. Its solar panels and bucket showers provide further evidence of its commitment to this eco-conscious philosophy. Ndutu has also chosen to forego Wi-Fi and air conditioning to give guests a truly authentic safari experience that fully immerses them in nature.
Comprising 10 tents, the camp ensures intimacy and exclusivity while exploring the remote and beautiful areas of the Serengeti. Game drives get you up close to the ecosystem’s large concentration of herbivores, including wildebeest, zebras, antelope and giraffes. December through March allow for hot-air balloon safaris that give you a spectacular bird’s-eye view of the migration and savannah below.
The Serengeti offers more than just a scenic landscape and vast array of wildlife, and when staying at Ndutu, you’ll be able to explore two of Tanzania’s most interesting and renowned places – the impressive Ngorongoro Crater and the historic Oldupai Gorge.

Unwind and relax, in your own private luxury
Standard Tent
Nothing screams ‘authentic safari’ like canvas tents and bucket showers. Ndutu goes to great lengths to ensure that the camp has minimal impact on its surroundings. In doing so, it allows guests to embrace the simplicity of the African wilderness. You won’t be at a loss for modern comforts, though. All tents come standard with comfy king and twin beds as well as en-suites fitted with bucket showers, wash basins and flush toilets. There’s nothing better than zipping down the sides of the tent and enjoying the view of the plains from the comfort of your bed.
General Facilities
Enhancing the feel of an authentic safari, Ndutu features two tents that function as a dining room and lounge where guests eat meals and unwind with a cold drink, respectively.
With guards on watch 24-hours a day, guests can relax and wander the full extent of the camp knowing that animals keep a safe distance.

Dining
Ndutu operates under the most basic conditions to ensure minimum impact on its surroundings. However, this doesn’t mean there’s any compromise when it comes to the quality of the dining experiences, which matches most five-star restaurants. A hearty bush breakfast takes place in private areas of the park before your day of adventure begins. Don’t waste any time by returning to camp; rather combine your game drives with a delicious picnic lunch that can be arranged on request.
On return to Ndutu in the evenings, a campfire is lit, providing a warm meeting spot to sip on a sundowner and nibble on appetizers before sitting down for dinner. Served in a cosy dining room tent, your three-course meal can be enjoyed inside the romantic, soft light of lanterns or outside under a canopy of stars in the night sky.
