Africa Safari Expert

*Featured in Condé Nast Traveler as a Top Travel Specialist*

Born and bred South African, I spent my childhood in Johannesburg, moving with my family to Cape Town when I turned 11. I've spent most of my life here and couldn't ask for a more beautiful place to call home!

I ventured into the travel industry about 17 years ago and developed a strong passion for it. The first four years were spent working at a luxury holiday villa rental company, and since then I have been at Go2Africa – where I've been able to share my love for Africa and first-hand knowledge and experience with my clients. I cannot imagine doing anything else, I thrive in my role as an Africa Safari Expert.

Soulful Safari Reflection

I have had many incredible experiences over the years, and so many phenomenal travel opportunities, visiting some of the most outstanding places including Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya and Tanzania, Botswana, Mauritius, Mozambique and South Africa – the stories are endless.

Being on safari, or on an island, ignites a flame in my heart, that makes me feel complete. Something I wish for everyone to experience, at least once in their life – it is truly magical. One of the most memorable moments for me (and there are many), was gorilla trekking in Uganda, it was a bucket list experience for me – a real ‘pinch me’ moment that I will never forget.

Most Memorable Experience Organised for a Client

There have been so many memorable experiences organised along the way. I pride myself in ensuring every trip that I curate is filled with unique and unforgettable experiences.  Some of the best experiences would have to be trips booked for families and even multi-generational families where everyone from the grandparents, right down to the youngest family member, get to experience a safari together. There is nothing quite like being in the bush with your loved ones. I have also helped organise engagement proposals, honeymoons, vow renewals, surprise upgrades and value-adds– again, making sure each client has the best possible experience.

My Best African Travel Advice

Take the time to really embrace the experiences, step out of your comfort zone and do things you normally wouldn't do. Go on a hot air balloon safari in Kenya or walk with the elephants at Victoria Falls. Dance with the local Samburu people around the campfire or see if you can jump as high as the Maasai. Capture as many pictures as possible but also remember to put your phone/camera down sometimes, and just enjoy!
