My Recent Travels
Most recently I have been to Johannesburg, Sun City, Pilanesberg National Park, Welgevonden and Madikwe Game Reserves as well as the Kruger National Park and Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve.
I was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo and raised in Cape Town, South Africa. After completing my tertiary education in Event & Tourism Management, I was glad to find myself joining Go2Africa, one step closer to exploring our continent of Africa.
I am family-orientated and very reserved but also love spending time with friends. I love Cape Town - I adore it! There is so much to do and see. I love visiting unfamiliar places, meeting different people from all walks of life and learning about distinct cultures and experiences.
I am passionate about travel and love to assist with my clients’ travel plans, slowly turning their dreams into reality.
Where have I travelled
During my journey from the DRC to South Africa, my family and I explored Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Swaziland. I wish I was old enough to have had a better understanding and appreciate what was happening at the time.
I’ve been to Kenya, and spent some time in the capital city, Nairobi, and the gorgeous Nairobi National Park, which offers great wildlife experiences and city views in the background. I would love to return and experience the Masai Mara.
While at university, I visited the impeccable Garden Route and West Coast areas. I also love the Cape Winelands, which always give such serenity and peace of mind. This area outside Cape Town is always a perfect weekend getaway destination.
I recently spent a week in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve and it was amazing – the lodges are outstanding, luxurious and very homely. Game viewing was incredible and we saw four of the Big 5 on our first evening game drive. I really recommend visiting this area at least once in your life.
What I love about Africa
I love that Africa is rich in culture, diversity and wildlife. There are so many journeys to undertake, from beach resorts and Big 5 safaris to gorilla-trekking expeditions in East Africa.
Some African Travel advice
Africa is very different to how it is perceived by many. It’s a developing continent but still retains its uniqueness. Home to the Big 5 and gentle giants in the rich Congo forests, Africa is a bucket-list destination. If you can, you should come to Africa and get a front-row seat of a real-life National Geographic Wild documentary.
As the Moroccan scholar Ibn Battuta said, ‘Travel, it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller’.
Where I’d love to go next
There are so many places I’d love to visit next, among them are Victoria Falls on both sides, Namibia, Zanzibar, the Masai Mara, Serengeti National Park and Botswana – I think that’s enough for now!
