I firmly believe that my passion for travel was born the day my family and I left Germany to immigrate to Africa. I was seven years-old then, and my passion has yet to wane!

I began my career working as a receptionist in the hotel industry, taking on more responsibility by organising conferences and weddings as time went on. At that time, I thought I had found the final destination in my career. It was only when I moved to Cape Town and started working as a leisure travel consultant that I truly found my calling. Since then, I have made a home at Go2Africa, where I've been for the last 10 years. I still find myself waking up each morning, excited about all the adventures I get to plan for the day!

Sundowner of Choice

Amarula, a South African liqueur made from the fruit of the Amarula tree (tastes similar to Khalua), is delicious over ice in the summer, or mixed with hot chocolate in winter!

Client Advice

Forget about capturing that perfect photograph and enjoy the moment! You’re on a once-in-a-lifetime trip, so take some time to put the camera down, breathe and just soak in the moment!

Expert Tip

One of my best safari experiences has been fly camping – there is nothing that puts you in touch with nature like sleeping under the starry African sky! If you have the opportunity on your safari to participate in a sleep out or fly camping experience for one night, I highly recommend it. Drifting off whilst watching the stars and hearing the night life around you is the most humbling and exciting experience at the same time.

Favourite Client Story

One Christmas Eve, I was on my way to a family gathering in the middle of nowhere, when I suddenly got a call that my clients had missed their connecting flight in Europe due to bad weather conditions - they were not going to make their beach holiday in Mozambique! They were devastated as all other flights were fully-booked and it began too look as if there was nothing I could do to help. Armed with nothing but a mobile phone, WiFi and some incredible contacts, we hustled to get new flights and made the necessary booking changes with the Mozambican hotel. By the time I reached my destination, my clients had new tickets and were back on track with their trip!

Loves to Hear

I find it validating to hear that a client's trip went flawlessly. Clients are in a foreign country, and knowing that they feel safe and are at ease because I made sure that there was nothing to worry about, means a lot to me!
