Standard Tent

All the tents at Kirawira are styled and decorated to replicate the elegant hunting camps of historic colonial figures and boast typically Edwardian style. Luxury and decadence are two strong features in the 25 tents, all of which are perched on raised timber platforms to afford incredible views over the surrounding savannah.

The spacious bedrooms are decorated with antique pieces, including carefully selected brass lamps, rugs and patchwork quilts on the four-poster beds. Each tent walks out onto a furnished deck that is ideal for a champagne cocktail in the afternoon, as you gaze across the Serengeti.

Family-friendly tent options are also available on request.

General Facilities

The central meeting tent is a wonderful place to relax and perhaps get to know some of the other guests.

Furniture is specifically selected to recreate the Edwardian times, with chintz-covered chaise lounges, Persian rugs, antique escritoires and stud-backed smoking chairs. Details include wind-up phonograms, leather-bound travelling cases and brass shooting sticks.

The safari bar is another place to relax after a day out in the wilderness, with its stone terrace that boasts beautiful views over the plains – ideal to watch as the day draws to a close.

Dining

The twin dining tents offer Colonial style and grandeur. Look forward to full English breakfasts and 5-course lunches and dinners, all presented in full silver service.

Gourmet meals feature decadent dishes including roasts, home-made sorbets, and local cheese boards accompanied by a range of fine wines. Round off your exquisite meal with freshly-brewed Arabica coffee.

Kirawira also offers selected sites for bush dining, where you’ll enjoy the same standard of service and the same delicious cuisine, but with the added bonus of gazing out over the savannah while indulging in your meal. The chefs will also be happy to accommodate children, cooking according to their needs as well.

This was our favorite resort. Beautiful accomodations, great staff. Our waiter Bonaface paid special attention to us and on the final night he and my daughter Emma who had lived in Kenya for 4 months decided on a traditional meal; without a doubt the best food we had on our trip. Serengeti National Park far exceeded my expectations. Could have stayed indefinitely.
