Linkwasha Camp is considered one of Zimbabwe’s best, with outstanding service, location and design. It lies within Hwange National Park’s prolific Linkwasha Concession and guests have access to the Ngamo Plains, which come alive during the Green Season with sizable herds of eland, zebra and waterbuck. Predators include side-striped jackals, honey badgers and bat-eared foxes and birders are spoilt for choice with no less than five species of vulture, plenty of migrants and raptors like Dickinson’s kestrel, martial eagles and red-necked falcons.
Consisting of seven tents and one family unit, Linkwasha Camp has been designed to be as eco-friendly and energy-efficient as possible, while still maintaining guests’ creature comforts. There are multiple decks and levels to ensure panoramic views in all directions, especially over the nearby waterhole. A pool keeps you comfortable in summer while a cosy ‘winter lounge’ with a fireplace and library keeps you warm in the cooler months.
A private game-drive vehicle is available for hire and guided walks are considered one of the Linkwasha Conservancy’s highlights. In addition to visits to the nearby community and lessons on conservation from the resident ecologist, you can also spend an evening under the stars on the protected sleep-out platform – one of the best ways to experience the sights and sounds of the African night!
