Located in Zimbabwe's flagship Hwange National Park, Little Makalolo is discreetly tucked away in a teak forest and overlooks a waterhole that sees a regular procession of animals coming down to drink. The focus here is firmly on wildlife: you will be urged to try the different viewing hides - including one overlooking the camp's waterhole - for great game and bird viewing as well as excellent photographic opportunities.
At Little Makalolo, your game viewing starts on your doorstep. Morning and afternoon game drives in open 4x4s and walks with an armed guide are all part of the experience, and you can expect to see large antelope herds, closely followed by their predators, as well as classic large game species such as elephant, giraffe and buffalo. Birdlife is also abundant in the area with over 400 species recorded.
