Overview

Set on the banks of the Mutlumuvi river in a thriving private concession of the Greater Kruger National Park, Rhino Post Safari Lodge offers spectacular game viewing on day and night game drives.

Careful consideration was taken in the layout of the lodge, battery power is used for lighting, a special indigenous Reedbed System processes the bathroom waste, and other waste is sorted and recycled wherever possible. The utmost care was taken to minimise the environmental impact of Rhino Post Safari Lodge, and to that end, no concrete was used in the buildings.

Both the plunge pool and lounge overlook an active waterhole in the riverbed. The lounge at Rhino Post Safari Lodge, with its extensive wine cellar, fireplace and bar provides a perfect setting for an afternoon or evening sundowner.

Highlights

  • Private wilderness concession within the Kruger Park
  • Game-rich river location - perfect for spotting big cats such as Leopard

Understated luxury in the heart of the Kruger National Park. The main deck overlooks a waterhole that has constant activity so there's no need to even leave the lodge for game drives!

Rooms

Bush Suite

Stilts raise the spaciously appointed suites from the riverbank, allowing you to view the Mutlumuvi riverbed with ease from your bedroom, bathroom and private wooden deck.

Constructed using a mix of natural materials the rooms and suites at Rhino Post Safari Lodge have wooden floors, thatched roofs, canvas walls and a ceiling fan.

Each en suite bathroom includes a deep, freestanding bath, "his and hers" basins, a separate toilet, and an outdoor shower protected by thick reed poles.

Facilities

Soak in the African atmosphere after a day of wildlife viewing in the comfortable lounge or on the wooden deck that extends over the river.

Recline next to the plunge pool as you watch the passing wildlife, or treat yourself to a massage or treatment at the Rejuvenation Centre.

Dining

The dining area at Rhino Post Safari Lodge, which is set under Tamboti trees, allows for al fresco dinners, cool lunches in the heat of a summer afternoon and snug winter dining.

Candlelight riverbed dinners and bush breakfasts are a wonderful, alternative way to experience the African wilderness.

Rhino Post Safari Lodge

Rhino Post was absolutely fantastic. We saw a lot of game even though the state of the Kruger Park is shocking due to drought (as i spent most of my childhood holidays driving around in my parents car i could compare now with past memories). The accomodation was PERFECT - right combination of rustic and luxury. The food was outstanding and the Staff were super. The sleepout is thrilling and i would highly recommend it. At times I was disturbed by how many public cars we came across - but we could retreat to Rhino Post's own concession there for a more intimate authentic bush feeling.
