Overview of Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge

Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge is set in a true natural wonder, the pristine and unique Okavango Delta. As the world’s largest inland delta, it supports a rich diversity of wildlife on its islands and waterways. A birder’s paradise, some 450 species make their home here. Among the excellent Big 5 game viewing, you may encounter the rare and graceful red lechwe and semi-aquatic sitatunga antelope.

Set in a serene riverine forest on the banks of a permanent river, Sandibe Lodge is characterized by sumptuous décor and skillfully sensitive architecture. The entirely wooden structure for the common areas has been inspired by the curves and scales of a pangolin, one of Africa’s rarest and most elusive creatures. Your room is designed to mimic a weaver bird’s characteristically shaped and carefully woven nest.

Activities centre around the area’s rich game viewing on morning, afternoon and early evening drives, and guided walks. There is Wi-Fi throughout Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge and convenient helicopter transfers are available.

It was good to put Xudum first and then Sandibe as the latter is fancier. However, both were fantastic and the trackers at Xudum were really good.
Accommodation food and service all up to scratch.

Although the Sandibe was a little bit less confortable, food and staff made us spend a wonderful time. Gosh, one the managers there, spent a lot of time playing with Garance so we could go for a game safari or just stay in the lodge and enjoy. I would strongly recommend the Sandibe for that, staff there is really really nice and sweet. They answered any request or question quickly, everything is always possible!!

Sandibe lodge had the real wow factor. Viewing was not quite as good (Sam had spoilt us!) but the lodge, our personal butler Judy (she certainly deserves a mention) and the surprise bush dinner and lunch made our stay fantastic.

We had a fantastic time. Above and beyond our expectations. Spoilt rotten. Sandibe Lodge, such a beautiful place. Our trip on the boat, we caught fish!!! The lovely sundowner with champers and canopies after, to die for. Private dinning by our deck. Boma was great as well, singing and dancing, food excellent… We also had time for private moments with the local visitors (elephants, monkeys, baboons and Kudu)

Both Sandibe and Nxabega are obvious past masters at the safari business. andBeyond seem to have got most things just right. We saw some excellent game, had a close encounter with an elephant in a boat, and the staff at both sites were magnificent. Despite the very warm weather it was extremely enjoyable.
